Working as Project Manager for BAC as well as in conjunction with Kingspark Developments the role for Vining Management was to manage the vacation of BACs existing site in readiness for a new retail park by Kingspark and establish the operation in a new factory in Romford whilst maintaining seamless operations of the manufacturing business. VML acted at board level as part of a business team to achieve the property and construction functions needed for this move.

The integration with the managment of the business was paramount as well as an understanding of their business. This knowledge then had to be transformed into establishing process layouts that would fit the new building, costing and reporting on these before exercsing them using skilled contractors from internal departments of the business mixed with external contractors who all required managing with precision. The final factory move was achieved over three weekends with minimal loss of customer service.

At the same time as undertaking this project BAC took the opportunity to review every element of it’s manufacturing process and re engineer its process to creat the most efficient layout for a new factory. The result was a new factory of 80 000sf from 220 000sf for the same output
