Blue Ribbon Park formed part of the old Alfred Herbert Works in Coventry and was acquired by Wigleys in the 1980’s. It was operated as an industrial estate for many years but more recently it has been regenerated to provide new Industrial, Retail and Leisure uses. At the same time VL worked with the city council to incorporate a new estate road for the mutual benefit of the developer and surrounding residences to improve access for both. This needed years of complex negotiations leading to a successful outcome

Once planning had been secured and legal agreements with council concluded the construction of the road and the new Royal Mail delivery office commenced as a first phase. This was followed by the construction of a new Lidl supermarket  which opened in early 2011. Industrial units at the rear of the park have now been let to the expanding Coventry Prototype Panels group and the final plots will see delivery of a bulky goods retail unit and the delivery of a 72 bed budget executive hotel with ground floor restaurant.
