Vantage Park was the site of the former Bell Green Goods Yard which was rendered obsolete at the time the A444 was transformed from being a disused railway. As such this 10 acre parcel of land sits immediately next to the A444 with some 300 metres of frontage to the road. It is only 2km away from Junction 3 M6 along dual carriageway. VL worked with the city council to secure the recovery of this site which had been rendered useless due to the amount of spoil left on it previously. A cut and fill exercise with the neighbouring Blue Ribbon Park also owned by the client released the site for development again. A ‘bailey’ bridge over the canal was built to facilitate this exercise.
VL had to negotiate with British Water ways and many other statutory bodies to release this site for development but achieved a successful outcome for the client in releasing the value of the land. The ensuing engineering works were expansive requiring total reconstruction of the embankments
